My last visit to this Festival was August 31st to 2nd September 2007. “Lalita”, is a spiritual centre in the remote location of Cáceres Spain just outside the small village of Acebo.
Getting there is by bus, taxi or a friend from Madrid on a journey northwards for around four and a half hours into the mountains of Spain.
Secluded in the mountains above the little picturesque and sleepy village of Acebo is Lalita. It is a centre for peace, meditation and inward studies.
Twelve years ago saw the first International Taiji gathering at Lalita that marked the occasion as a successful annual event. Now it has become established as an International Taijiquan Festival offering workshops in Taijiquan and Qigong for beginners and teachers alike.
The organisers of Lalita are Enrique Alario and Simon Carey Morgan, both longstanding practitioners and Teachers of Taijiquan and Qigong.
Last year I travelled with my good buddy Ronnie Robinson as this was his first introduction to Lalita. Ronnie came to observe, chill out and enjoy - which he did.
We were met at Madrid by my great freind Michele La Rue and the 3 of us hit the road to Lalita arriving late in the evening after a wonderful journey and good company.
As expected, it was again a fantastic time teaching and meeting friends old and new.
My thanks to Simon, Enrique and of course, Glenda, Marie & Ivan, Manolo, Mencia , Jean Luc for an excellent workshop, and of course buddies, Sam & Mario to mention a few.
