It is really a time of enjoyment watching Taoist Elder You’s calligraphy. Southern Wudang Mountains are the birthplace of great masters of Chinese southern Wudang Taoism. Wudang Wushu International Training Base, Wusheng Palace, Chongyang Palace and Great Masters Residence are all located under the highest peak of Dabie Mountains which is 1,729 metres above sea level in Yingshan County of Hubei Province. Tradition has it that it was here that the immortal Liu Dongbin in Tang Dynasty and the great Master Taoist Zhang Sanfeng of Ming Dynasty went into religious self-discipline.
Southern Wudang scenic spots possess unique charm of great culture, economy and travel. They have become the largest travelling centre and Taoism sacred place of central China with their rich cultural contains, beautiful natural scenes and fast-changing enchanting sights.

Being a Wushu Master and a Taoist Healing Master, Taoist Elder You is also called a thinker and a philosopher. The movie “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” has did much to attracted students of martial Arts to travel from all over the world to study with the masters at Wudang.

More and more Westerners are studying Zhongwen (Mandarin), Taoism and of course, Wudang Martial Arts.

The Hall of Yuzhen is the cradle of Wudang Kung Fu. In 1417, Emperor Zhudi decreed Wudang to be the "Grand Mountain" and ordered the construction of the Hall of Yuzhen for Master Zhang Sanfeng.

On January 19, 2003, a fire broke out in the hall, reducing the three rooms that covered 200 square metres to ashes.

A gold-plated statute of Zhang Sanfeng, which was usually housed in Yuzhengong, was moved to another building just before the fire, and so escaped destruction in the inferno.
